On October 16, the opening ceremony of 2018 international students was held in the academic lecture hall of the library. Niu Xuelin, secretary of the party committee of the university; Cao Yumin, President of the university; representatives of relevant functional departments, heads of colleges and teachers; Dai Linkun, secretary general of Suzhou automobile circulation industry association; Zou Chuangye, deputy general manager of Suzhou Keyinsi intelligent technology co., LTD.; and other enterprise representatives and all international students of 2018 attended the ceremony. Vice president Zhang Jian presided over the ceremony. 

Before the beginning of the ceremony, the international students of 2017 sang the classic songs "jasmine flower" and "the moon represents my heart", which aroused the enthusiasm of the freshmen and created a good atmosphere for the ceremony. 

The ceremony started with the national anthem of the People's Republic of China. Mohsin, a Pakistani student of 2017, spoke on behalf of the students. He Shared his learning experience over the past year and suggested that the students should adapt to the new learning environment as soon as possible, study Chinese hard and actively participate in cultural activities. On behalf of all the freshmen, David, a South African student of 2018, thanked the university for its excellent teaching resources and teaching environment. He called on the new students to abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the university and to devote themselves to the study and internship program, so as to master the real knowledge. Lu Jiankang, a teacher from the school of mechanical and electrical engineering, spoke on behalf of all the teachers. He expected the students to have the attitude of "quick and eager to learn, not to be ashamed of asking questions" and the spirit of "deep understanding of learning, study hard ". At the same time, he encouraged students from all over the world to communicate more with each other and play the role of "bridge and bond" between countries, so that the tree of international friendship will last forever. 

At the ceremony, Niu Xuelin, Cao Yumin, Dai Linkun and Zou Chuangye jointly unveiled the "Suzhou vocational university international student internship base". This year, under the care of the ministry of education, the university cooperated with the ministry of higher education and training of South Africa and the China center of South Africa to receive 40 South African college students for a one-year practical training program. After completing the 6-month study in the school, these students will go to enterprises for the 6-month internship. 

Cao Yumin gave a warm speech and extended a warm welcome to the 72 new international students. He pointed out that China is currently sharing development opportunities with countries along the belt and road through the Belt and Road Initiative to create harmony and prosperity. He cited the speeches of former chairman of Vietnam ho chi minh, former South African President Nelson Mandela, and an Urdu poem which are familiar to Pakistan people. He encouraged the students to cherish the valuable opportunity to study abroad in China, study hard, hard work, practice the university motto "diligent, brave, loyal and trust", become friends to China, love China and Chinese culture and spread the culture and friendship between the countries and become citizens with innovative thinking, international vision and social responsibility. Finally, he sent good wishes to all his students, hoping that they have a good and precious time in school. 

After the opening ceremony, Tang Xiaojun, vice dean of the international college, gave entrance education to all the freshmen.
